Client Work
Mission Foods - Website redesign
Project Summary
Rather than update their main brand site, Mission Foods invested in disjointed and costly microsites that not only added confusion for consumers, but limited SEO potential. So, we created a full-site redesign that aimed to stitch together each of Mission Foods’ microsite's while simplifying the user experience.
Built mobile-first in recognition of the way consumers are accessing the web, consuming content and finding new recipe inspiration, the new site was built to be responsive to any devices. As a whole, the redesign incorporated site hierarchy and wireframes, SEO strategy and recommendations, measurement framework, creative design, front- and back-end development, content population, and ongoing content strategy.

My Role
As the UX designer on this project it was important to meet with stakeholders from Mission Foods to get a better sense of what they felt the website should be/have as well as gain any analytics from user research. I then created the wireframes working closely with the lead designer to create the design you see here.
Homepage
The previous homepage was very simple, but didn't give the customer much of a chance to explore Mission products. With the redesign we decided to explore ways to see recipes then the Mission products used in those recipes, and products connected with recipes they can be used with. A drop down recipe category selector was also added to the page so that users can pick a relatable recipe category such as "packable lunches." Throughout the website it was important to show the direct connection between Mission Foods products and the recipes you can use with those products
Recipe category selector
Recipe + product used in featured recipe

Featured products + recipes that use selected product

Product Detail
The product detail page was redesigned to clean up the aesthetic as well as include access to new features. New features included alternate views of packaging to increase familiarity with the product, customer added reviews, and recipes using the product.

Recipe Detail
The recipe detail page was redesigned structurally to show the featured Mission product above the fold as well as within the steps of the recipe. With the product placed in multiple sections of the page users are able to go directly to that product page after seeing the recipe to find where to buy it. Key information is featured below the hero such as prep time, cook time, and servings to give users quick access.
